Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) is an energy-recovery evaporation technology that recycles vapor generated during the evaporation process. Instead of using continuous fresh steam from boilers, the system: Captures low-pressure vapor generated in the evaporator Compresses the vapor mechanically Raises its temperature and pressure Reuses it as the heating medium for evaporation This creates a closed-loop energy cycle, significantly reducing external steam demand. Technical Working Principle The MVR evaporation cycle operates through the following sequence: 1. Sugar juice or syrup enters the evaporator body. 2. Heat causes evaporation and vapor generation. 3. Generated vapor is routed to a mechanical compressor. 4. The compressor increases vapor pressure and temperature. 5. The recompressed vapor is returned to the heating side of the evaporator. 6. Continuous evaporation proceeds with minimal fresh steam input. The system primarily utilizes electrical power for compression, replacing conventional high steam consumption.     International project / Projects / International Projects / Kakira Sugar Ltd., Uganda / Kakira Sugar Ltd., Uganda One of Africa’s largest sugarcane milling tandems Uttam Sucrotech was commissioned one of Africa’s largest milling tandems for Kakira Sugar Limited, the flagship company of the legendary Madhwani Group of Uganda. The tandem consists of 5 mills of size 50” x 100”. Each of these Uttam mills weighs approximately 220 tons (equivalent to the weight of 35 African elephants) and the tandem is designed to crush 8,500 tons of sugarcane every day. To avoid any re-work at project site and to ensure meticulous erection, each of these mills was pre-assembled and then dis-mantled at our manufacturing facilities and then shipped to Uganda. The plant is already operating at its full capacity, a testament to the exceptional performance of Uttam's state-of-the-art equipment. This remarkable feature, seen across all plants established by us, underscores our dedication to manufacturing equipment that is not only high-quality but also operationally efficient from the very moment of start-up.

    O&M Services / What We Do / O&M Services / Sugar Plant Operation At Uttam Sucrotech, we specialize in delivering efficient and sustainable operations and maintenance solutions for sugar plants, ensuring maximum productivity, reliability and environmental responsibility. The sugar production process begins when the harvested sugarcane is transported to the Sugar Plants. From here, the cane undergoes a series of advanced processing steps to extract and refine sugar. Cane Preparation & Juice Extraction Sugarcane is initially prepared in fibrous form using cane cutters and a fibrizer. Juice is extracted through a milling tandem comprising 3, 4, or 6 rollers. The extracted juice, mixed with water, is then transferred to the boiling house for processing. 2. Juice Treatment & Clarification The raw juice is heated and treated with milk of lime, sulphur dioxide, or phosphoric acid to remove impurities. After further heating, the treated juice is sent to clarifiers for continuous settling. Clear juice collected from the clarifier is concentrated into syrup through multiple-effect evaporators. 3. Crystallization & Sugar Recovery The syrup is bleached with approved chemicals and sent to vacuum pans for concentration and sugar crystal formation. Crystals are separated from molasses using centrifugal machines, then dried, graded, weighed, and packed for storage and distribution. 4. By-products Utilization Press Mud: Residue from clarifiers, used as organic manure in cane fields, supporting sustainable farming practices. Bagasse: Fibrous residue from cane crushing, used as a primary fuel for steam generation in boilers. This reduces dependence on the state electricity board and promotes energy self-reliance. Molasses: A valuable by-product further fermented and distilled to produce alcohols, industrial spirits, and ethanol for blending with petroleum products. Sugar Plant Maintenance Efficient plant maintenance is the backbone of uninterrupted production in a sugar plant.
