- Mechanical Vapor Recompression Systems | Uttam Sucrotech
Uttam Sucrotech offers advanced Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) Systems engineered for high-efficiency evaporation and concentration processes in sugar plants. Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) System / What We Do / Mechanical Vapor Recompression Systems / Uttam Sucrotech offers advanced Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) Systems engineered for high-efficiency evaporation and concentration processes in sugar plants. As energy optimization becomes a critical factor in plant design and modernization, MVR technology represents a significant advancement in reducing steam dependency while maintaining high thermal performance. Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) is an energy-recovery evaporation technology that recycles vapor generated during the evaporation process. Instead of using continuous fresh steam from boilers, the system: Captures low-pressure vapor generated in the evaporator Compresses the vapor mechanically Raises its temperature and pressure Reuses it as the heating medium for evaporation This creates a closed-loop energy cycle, significantly reducing external steam demand. Technical Working Principle The MVR evaporation cycle operates through the following sequence: 1. Sugar juice or syrup enters the evaporator body. 2. Heat causes evaporation and vapor generation. 3. Generated vapor is routed to a mechanical compressor. 4. The compressor increases vapor pressure and temperature. 5. The recompressed vapor is returned to the heating side of the evaporator. 6. Continuous evaporation proceeds with minimal fresh steam input. The system primarily utilizes electrical power for compression, replacing conventional high steam consumption. Application in Sugar Plants MVR systems are integrated into: Multiple Effect Evaporator (MEE) systems High Brix syrup concentration Refinery evaporation sections Condensate recovery systems Plant capacity expansion and modernization projects MVR can operate as a standalone evaporation unit or be integrated with existing evaporator stations. Energy & Process Integration In cogeneration-based sugar plants: Reduced steam load improves overall steam balance Turbine efficiency is optimized Surplus power generation potential increases Boiler operating pressure requirements are minimized MVR shifts the energy requirement from thermal to electrical, enabling improved process control and automation. Key Technical Features High-efficiency mechanical vapor compressor Optimized evaporator design for stable operation Advanced automation and control systems Low noise and vibration configuration Compact layout for retrofit installations Integrated condensate management system Designed for continuous high-load operation Uttam’s MVR systems are delivered as part of a comprehensive engineering package including: Process design & thermal calculations Mechanical design & fabrication Compressor integration Electrical & instrumentation systems Automation and PLC-based controls Supervision, Installation & commissioning support
