As part of its ambitious growth plans, the Group undertook a major expansion of its subsidiary, Savannah Sugar Company, doubling its crushing capacity from 3,000 TCD to 6,000 TCD. Uttam Sucrotech successfully executed the Process House Expansion Package for Savannah Sugar. The scope of supply and installation included: State-of-the-art juice heaters and evaporators Continuous vacuum pans and auxiliaries A modern vertical crystallizer The project was carried out in close collaboration with M/s J. P. Mukherji & Associates Pvt. Ltd. (JPMA), one of India’s most renowned sugar consulting companies, who served as the consultant for this expansion.     International project / Projects / International Projects / Horyal Investment Holding Company / Horyal Investment Holding Company, Uganda Horyal Sugar Factory (Atiak) is a Greenfield Sugar Project promoted by Horyal Investment Holding Company Limited. The Sugar Factory is located in Gem Farm, Atiak sub-county, Kilak County, in Amuru District, in the Northern Region of Uganda. The new sugar factory has a capacity to crush 1,650 tonnes of raw cane daily, producing 66,000 tonnes (66,000,000 kg) of sugar annually. USIPL is the EPC contractor of the project. The salient features of the project are: Location: Atiak sub-county, Amuru District Plant Capacity: 1,650 TCD Steam Generation: 50 t/h; 45 kg/cm²(a); 485°C size Power Co-generation: 6 MWh The commissioning of the factory is expected in early 2018 with first production output of sugar planned for June 2018. Positive Impact of the Project in the Region The factory will employ over 1,500 people and has contracted with over 5,000 out-growers. The promoters of the company have established a working relationship with Gulu Women Entrepreneurs Association Limited (GWEAL) with an objective to develop the districts of Amuru, Atiak, Kamdin and Noya in Northern Uganda.
